Acne scars are nightmares for every girl and even boy. All the more the black and white acne scars on the face is very disappointing, especially teens feel dejected and become hesitant to socialize freely. The appeal of a person matters a lot in today’s world and hence even a little scarring on the face of a young boy or girl causes them to lose self confidence. But it is not at all a difficult task to get rid of the black and red patches on the face.If you can learn quite a bit about various types of acne, you can easily understand the type of scarring it leaves on the face and accordingly, you can treat it better.Acne lesions appear when the hair follicles on the skin are plugged oil and dead skin cells. The plugged follicles help the growth of bacteria which in turn leads to the growth of red bumps and pus-filled red bumps known as pimples.

Different outbreaks of acne

  1. Mild Acne: This refers to the whiteheads or blackheads that most of us get at various times.
  2. Moderately severe acne: These are of two categories like those with red inflamed pimples known as papules and those with red inflamed pimples called pastules.
  3. Severe acne: It causes nodules — painful, pus-filled cysts or lumps — to appear under the skin

Most severe acne form leaves behind severe acne scars. Nodules are the most notorious in creating sort of permanent scars  on this skin.

How to Treat Acne Scars?

Most of the scars those appear as reddish or brownish blemishes will fade after some days without any specific treatment. The basic thing to know when handling acne scars is you should not break those acne bumps on the skin which only leaves it with severe scarring.Nonetheless, in the event of having severe acne cars, you’d better go to a dermatologist.

  1. Laser resurfacing:  The laser takes away the damaged top layer of skin with scars and tightens the middle layer, leaving skin smoother. It might take between 3 and 10 days for the skin to heal well.
  2. Dermabrasion: This treatment uses a rotating wire brush or spinning diamond instrument to wear down the surface of the skin. A new, smoother layer comes in place of the abraded skin after the skin heals. It may take 10 days to 3 weeks to heal the skin.
  3. Fractional laser therapy: This treatment works at a deeper level than laser resurfacing or dermabrasion. Fractional laser therapy doesn’t wound the top layer of tissue and so healing time is shorter.

For “rolling” scars, doctors mostly inserts material under the scar to raise it to the level of normal skin. Finally, in some cases, a doctor may prescribe surgery to remove deeply indented scars. One thing you shouldn’t do to handle acne scars is load up your face with masks or fancy lotions — these won’t help and may distroy your skin all the more.
